Blood Spill Policy

GSU competition rule. Athlete Rights, Duties & Conduct category.

Rule Text by Organization

GSU Girevoy Sport Union

GSU has a specific blood spill policy: open cuts and abrasions occurring during warm-up must be reported and treated immediately. If bleeding becomes visible during competition, lifters must immediately cease their set upon hearing the 'blood stop' command. Athletes should remain on the platform during cleanup. Wounds must be cleaned and dressed to prevent further blood spread. All equipment and surfaces contaminated by blood must be treated as potentially infectious. Competitions should maintain a spill kit containing gloves, paper towels, plastic bags, and bleach-detergent solution.
