Compared across 2 organizations. Long Cycle (Clean & Jerk) Rules category.
After the overhead fixation, the athlete must return to the rack position before dropping into the swing. The athlete must hit the rack and not drop directly from overhead into the backswing. Long Cycle Rack Pause Required: After the clean, there must be a clear and distinguishable pause in the rack position. Hips and knees must be extended in the rack before initiating the jerk. A 'touch and go' from clean directly to jerk without pausing in rack is not permitted.
The clean and the jerk must be performed as separate, distinguishable movements in Long Cycle. The athlete must achieve fixation in the rack position (clean completed) before initiating the jerk. Flowing the clean directly into the jerk without a visible stop in rack is a no-count. This rule is strictly enforced during GSU ranking video review.
