Compared across 2 organizations. Marathon & Extended Formats category.
Rules for doing the Exercises are the same as in the classical ones. Only a multiple-hand change is allowed. The Half Marathon discipline is a 30-minute competition. The Marathon discipline is a 60-minute competition. The discipline is performed with only 1 Kettlebell with multi switch permission.
The IKMF Kettlebell Marathon is a continuous lifting event. The marathon (60 minutes) and half marathon (30 minutes) are performed with single or double kettlebells. Multiple hand switches are allowed for all single-KB disciplines. The defining rule: if the athlete puts the kettlebell(s) down before the set time expires, the entire result is voided (score = 0, athlete disqualified). This is uniquely strict compared to other organizations where setting the KB down merely terminates the set with good reps counting.
